About us: Introduction

Little Acorns outside play zone: the children can play in a safe and secure environment.

Little Acorn’s is open to our 2 year olds and rising 3’s. The timings for the sessions in this nursery are as follows:

  • Morning session – 8.50-11.50am
  • Lunch club – 11.50-12.30pm
  • Afternoon session – 12.30-3.30pm

As children are able to attend full days there is a cosy area which is available for any children who need a place to rest or a sleep.

All the provision is planned carefully, taking into account the children’s ages and developmental needs whilst giving the children every opportunity to thrive and achieve.

In Little Acorn’s we focus on the three Prime areas:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language

These three areas are crucial for a child's learning and development as they lay the foundations for children’s success in all other areas of learning and of life.

In Little Acorn’s, we work on a 1:4 ratio to ensure that we can offer a high quality environment which allows the children to learn and thrive.  To help maintain this quality and help the children to settle we only offer full day places.

We love to be outdoors whatever the weather, our covered area means fresh air without the rain!

Little Acorn’s has its own outdoor area which is used throughout the day. We love to be outdoors whatever the weather and are lucky enough to have our own sheltered area which means we get out even in the rain!

There are always lots of opportunities to communicate with the staff. A member of staff will greet you on the door every morning and see your child out at the end of the session. Also, your child will be allocated a keyworker. The keyworker will monitor your child’s progress, ensuring their needs are met.

We offer a healthy snack and drink throughout our session but children can also bring water.  During the cold period please make sure your child has a coat, we go outside every day!

Further information together with advice on admissions and application forms can be found under our Nursery Application Menu tab.

A message from Little acorns staff

We are very excited to meet our new little acorns this year

We look forward to helping them explore both our indoor and outdoor areas.

This term our topic is “why do you love me so much?” Within this, we will be learning more about ourselves and our families, establishing routine and developing their confidence for school life.

Please ensure your child brings a named water bottle, a pair of wellington boots and a set of spare clothes to each session as we are unable to supply these currently.
